Show Your Home Some Love This Valentine’s Day
We’ve been coming up with creative ways to have fun and keep things interesting at home without being able to go out and about or travel. And it’s true what they say, home is where the heart is. So, this Valentine’s Day we want to help you celebrate by giving you some tips on how to show your home some love… since we are all spending more time there these days.
Kitchen Makeover
This may be the perfect time to create your dream kitchen! You can do a total renovation or something on a smaller scare. A kitchen makeover doesn’t have to break the bank. Painting cabinets, updating hardware, adding a small section of tile backsplash, changing up your kitchen rug, or splurging on a new sink faucet can make all the difference. This year you can try something bold like navy cabinets and new bronze handles!
Fresh Paint
Adding an accent wall or a pop of color to your front door can make your home feel brand new. This years’ top colors are Ultimate Gray and Illuminating Yellow, and you can mix in last years’ color of Classic Blue to really change up the feel of your home. You can also go with neutral tones throughout to create a relaxing and inviting feel.
Declutter and Organize
Spring cleaning is coming early this year! Nothing compares to the feeling you get when you walk into a decluttered and organized home. Since we are spending so much time at home, it’s the perfect opportunity to go through some old things and create a donation pile of the things you no longer need.
Bathroom Updates
Painted tile, wood ceiling panels, rustic light fixtures… this is the time to get creative with your design style and update the bathrooms in your home. If that seems a little too bold for you, you can update by bringing in new aesthetics. Think new shower curtains, a vintage mirror, plush floor mats, floating shelves, and cute wall art.
New Light Fixtures
This is a great way to update your home’s overall look and design style! Switch out all those old light fixtures in your hallways, basement, kitchen, and even on the exterior of your house to something new! There are tons of different styles and designs to choose from.
Get Technical
If you’re still using that old school thermostat and the doorbell from the 70s, it’s time to upgrade! Check out the different options for installing a smart thermostat. This will not only make your life easier, but it will also look good too! Same thing with your outdated doorbell! There are plenty of great options out there that provide video footage and security as well.
Whether you’re planning on selling your home soon or are just looking for some fresh updates, these are just a few things you can do to make your home feel good while also increasing its value. We hope this list has given you a few ideas on how to love your home just a little more this year, Happy Valentines Day!
