With easy access to hiking and trails, dog friendly dining options, and some fun local dog parks, Longmont is a great place to live with man’s (or woman’s) best friend.
Those of us with furry friends know how important it is for our companions to get plenty of exercise and play with friends. Below I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite and some of the best off-leash dog parks in Longmont:

Attached to an 11 acre neighborhood park, this fenced in dog park is great for dogs to run free if you’re enjoying the other amenities Blue Skies Park has to offer.
Dog Park #1 located at 1505 21st Avenue Longmont, CO 80501
Offering two separate fenced in area makes this dog park great for dogs of all sizes! This is a fun place for your dog to run and play while you can relax in the shade or at one of the picnic tables, or socialize with other dog owners.
Dog Park #2 (Airport Rd Dog Park) located at 375 Airport Road Longmont, CO 80503
Similar to Dog Park #1, there are two areas for dogs, separated by size. This park is convenient in it’s location and also provides running water spring - fall and you can enjoy the park while also enjoying some mountain views.
Rough and Ready Neighborhood Park located at 301 E 21st Ave. Longmont, CO 80504
This clean and tidy park is great for the whole family, with a playground for kiddos and plenty of seating to relax while the dogs play.
Stephen Day Neighborhood Park located at 1340 Deerwood Drive Longmont, CO 80501
This is the perfect park to take a new dog or puppy still adjusting to play time with friends because it tends to be less frequented as some of the other parks in Longmont. While a bit small, this park still has plenty of room to run and explore.
Union Reservoir Nature Area located at 461 County Road 26Longmont, CO 80504
If your dog like to swim and splash in the water, look no further than Union Res Dog beach! There’s a designated leash free area with lake access where you can swim and play with your dog on “the beach.” This park has a $10 entrance fee.
Wherever you chose to take your dogs to play, you’re sure to have a a fun filled time!
